Goodbye Sailor

Yesterday I headed to Garden Island in Sydney to farewell my sisters partner, James. James is in the Navy and is being deployed to the Middle East for 6 months as part of Operation SLIPPER which involves surveillance and anti -piracy operations.
James has always been interested in my blog and pen pals and jokes that whilst his away he will be pen pal number 452 :-)
So I have a little favor to ask after being inspired by the lovely Micaela, if anyone is able to send James a card whilst his away it would make his day and mean a lot to me! Postage to James is free in Australia for anything under 2kgs and outside of Australia it is the standard postage for a card/letter to Australia. If you think you are able to send something please email me at timeaftertea@gmail.com
I love the thought of him getting a big pile of cards at the next mail call.

  1. Oh thats such a lovely idea!!

  2. i'm in too! email me his addy and maybe tell me about a few of his favorite things.

  3. It means so much to me when people take the time out to send things to my brother in Iraq, I would love to send James something!! I'm def in! Please email me his addy and just like Faiza said - something you'd think he'd love! It's great you are doing this for James and I know how much it will mean to your sister!

  4. Aww! I hope James has a safe deployment! Thinking of you and your sister!

  5. Aww this is lovely! I will email you soon and I will send him something (I found out about the free postage in Australia when I was sending Micaela's brother something)

    You're so sweet!

  7. i LOVE this post for so many reasons and think you're just darling to be there for your sister's boyfriend while he's away (and his CUTE joke about your pen pals!) i am SO EXCITED to send him a little hello! i love the idea of his name being called and a pile of mail with his name on it-- as you know it meant SO MUCH to me to think of my brother having the same. Yes! let me know a few things he might need? xo
