If you need something new for the week...

One of the things that I love about blogging is the great movies, books, food, shopping, music that I have been introduced to. So I wanted to share a few of my favourite things that I have stumbled upon recently...

Books
The Hunger Games Trilogy- Suzanne Collins: forget Harry Potter and Twilight this is my favourite book series. It's so gripping and honestly whenever I pick up the books I struggle to put them down. I think I will be upset after I have finished the last book, I don't want it to end.
Valley of the Dolls-Jacqueline Susann: this book has such a topsey, turvey storyline which kept me interested. Some what depressing but with lovable characters and set in the roaring forties, this classic is definitely one worth reading.
The diving bell and the butterfly - Jean - Dominique Bauby: this book was written by the editor in chief of Elle magazine in France after he suffered from a massive stroke leaving him "locked in". The book was written by Bauby blinking his left eyelid and a translator interpreting the blinking and writing it down. This book really helped me deal with my nan's stroke as she too is essentially "locked in", it is a remarkable story.

Movies
The Illusionist: a sweet love story with a little slide of the hand. I love a movie that keeps you guessing and not to mention I am a bit of an Edward Norton fan.
Law Abiding Citizen - I have to admit when Brendan picked this movie I groaned a little but I ended up absolutely glued to the tv. Another movie that keeps you guessing but also a great overall comment about the current state of the criminal justice system. Law Nerd - I know!

Music (for the gym)
These might not be classed so much as "finds" but are the songs that keep me motivated at the gym. If I forget my i-pod I can usually only last 20 minutes at the gym.
1. Parlez Vous Francais - Art vs Science
2. Dance in the dark - Lady Gaga
3.Love the fall - Michael Paynter
4. ABC- Jackson 5 (I know, an oldie but a great workout track)
5.Love Lost - Temper Trap

Spring is finally here in Canberra with predicted 20 degree (72F) weather all week, finally! I would love to hear any recommendations you have for books, movies, shopping, music, tea flavours etc if you have any to share.
