A perfect start

We just got back from the Gold Coast and I am absolutely exhausted after travelling for eight hours.
I had such a really nice time with my family and loved being so close to the beach. There is just something so relaxing and refreshing about being surrounded by the ocean air and the sound of waves crashing.
It was a great way to start the New Year (even if I didn't make it too midnight) and I just have such a positive outlook for this year.

Highlights from our trip...
+ Shopping up a storm (post to follow)
+ Dreamworld especially the water park so much fun, not so much fun finding out my sister is much braver then me
+Watching Dexter at night time
+Chocolate and peanut butter ice cream
+Going to the beach on a very overcast day and having the best swim of the trip
+ Spa
+Fresh fish and chips
+New Years Fireworks
+Having wine on our balcony overlooking the beach
+Cuddling a koala

  1. I hope it was a pleasant trip, we got stuck at Bulahdelah yesterday and we were all going a bit insane. Hope you have been well :D

  2. Looks and sounds gorgeous Megan and I am a firm believer that a break away is the perfect start to a new year. Anything involving Chocolate and Peanut Butter ice-cream sounds like heaven! :)

  3. Looks like you stayed near where I stayed when I went about a month ago. Glad to hear you had fun!

  5. Gorgeous pictures. Sounds like a wonderful trip :-) I think I might have been better off had I NOT made it to midnight... that hangover was a killer.

  6. Love your pictures! Sounds like the perfect way to bring in the New Year!

  7. Wow! Sounds like a blast with the beach, wine, and Dexter! (I love that show.)Indeed, the perfect start.

  8. Oh wow! What a fabulous way to kick off a new year! Looks like a gorgeous spot, Megan, and the celebrations sound lovely. Especially the swimming and the spa and the peanut butter ice cream...

Happy New Year! I think 2011 is going to be amazing! Can't wait to find out what it holds for you.

  9. Your trip sounds heavenly - and what a view! Thanks to your post, I suddenly have a craving for ice cream!

  10. Oh my! I wish I was on the coast over the new year. I think the overcast weather can make the swim even better. No sun bouncing off the water to hit your eyes.

    Looks perfect!

  11. That sounds like a dreamy new years! It's so cold here in Scotland and I'm seriously craving some beach time.
