Girls weekend & budgets

This weekend was exactly what I needed, girl time with my oldest and best friend.  I drove up to her house Friday night and on Saturday we shopped and got our nails done. Isn't shellac the best? I cannot imagine getting a normal manicure again when this lasts for at least 10 days. We also ate lots of delicious food, I love trying new restaurants and foods and I went all out this weekend. My favourite thing we had was a BLT with aioli on a big fresh panini yum!

At the moment I am currently writing out a budget, trying to get my credit card paid off and some savings in the bank for our big trip next year. I am starting with a shopping ban for the month of June. My parachute shirt and gold shoes arrived today which were online purchases before this started so no more new things for a little while. I think it will be good to rediscover and appreciate things I already have!

How was your weekend? Do you have any budgeting tips? xx

  2. There's nothing better than girl time! Your nails look beautiful!!! And that cake looks amazing! Your parachute shirt (love the Peter Pan collar!) and gold shoes are perfect for your last purchases for awhile. Good luck with your budget! I need to do the same and know what a challenge it can be. Be sure and pass along any good budgeting tips you receive!

  3. I'll be interested to hear how you get on with the budget advice! I'm living on a pretty limited income at the moment and the best tip I've got is probably finding free fun stuff to do in my spare time so I don't feel sorry for myself having no money. There always seems to be a free concert, movie in a park or something like that on in my city. Or just getting a group together and having a picnic in a park doesn't cost much but is fun.

  4. budget tips... i always write out a budget every fortnight when I get paid and generally stick to it. Set aside money for bills (electricy, mobile phone etc) each pay so then when a bill arrives its not too bad.

i too put myself on a shopping ban for june (for clothes) as I so don't need any more either!

  6. I have a similar goal, I go 'no shopping' a few months in the year. I did my first one a few months ago and blogged about it and got some really great tips:

I'm really looking forward to doing it again next month :)

  7. I think I might be a little weird because I love writing up budgets and organising money... is that weird? Anyways, I work out what is going out (without question) and then organise what's left into a savings pile and a 'spare' pile for treats and adventures :)

    Love, Rachel
