September blogger of the month: Vanisha's Life in...Australia

I have got a little slack with my blogger of the month posts but I am now back on track and so happy to have the lovely Vanisha as my September blogger of the month.Vanisha also lives in Canberra and I have had the pleasure of meeting her. She is such a gorgeous, happy and genuine person. I especially love her final words of wisdom at the bottom of this post, I am sure it is something we could all incorporate into our every day! Thanks so much for this post Vanisha.

The Perfect Sundays - Time Spent at the Australian National Botanic Gardens

How would you spend your perfect Sunday?
Since moving to Canberra (from Fiji) my husband, Patrick and I tend to spend Sundays at the Australian National Botanic Gardens, either for a picnic or for brunch. Regardless of where though, Sundays are definitely about brunch in my book. The perfect Sunday would definitely include lovely hot, sunny weather, a delicious brunch, some champagne and being outdoors. I'm lucky that most Sundays are perfect around here!

What is something you are loving right now?
Dancing! I've always loved dance class but I feel like lately I'm enjoying it a lot more. I've been doing salsa lessons and when Patrick was over, we did a private class together. We've discovered that we really enjoy dancing together. We sort of stumbled upon this love for dancing the same way we stumbled upon the love of being in the kitchen cooking together! Didn't think we'd enjoy it, but we do!

What are you most looking forward to this Spring?
Being outdoors and enjoying the sun more...and of course, I'm going to be thankful to get rid of all these layers of clothes! Bare shoulders and legs are what I'm looking forward to the most! The first two days of spring have been beautiful - no shorts yet but I have ordered a few in the anticipation of warmer weather!

Why did you start blogging? And any tips for bloggers just starting out?
I started blogging as a way to stay connected with friends and family in Fiji, but very quickly it became more about self discovery. Blogging has really helped me work through who I am and what I'm about. In order to share 'me' with my readers, I needed to know 'me' first. I still have a fairly small blog (in terms of numbers) but it's a huge blog in terms of connected-ness and interaction. I find the more sincere you are with your comments and your posts, the more your community will grow...

And final words of wisdom....
Be Happy - that's what I live by. I wake up in the morning and ask myself, are you happy? For the most part it's been 'yes', a few years ago it was 'no' for a little while. If I find I'm answering 'no' - I do what I can to fix the situation right away, it's never failed to work for me. Just be happy. I think in this world, that's one of the most important things you can be!

Thanks so much for having Megan and letting me share a little bit about myself with your readers!

Much love,
Vanisha
